Electrical Systems
Kuranda Marine offers one simple concept - to design and specify a full electrical system that will provide safe, managed power to meet your individual requirements. The 'Power Kit' philosophy, developed by Kuranda Marine is a methodical and engineered approach to ensuring the equipment offered will be capable of meeting and exceeding the user's expectations and demands, while all the components are selected and sized to be compatible with each other as well as being ideally suited to the way the system can be used. After over 19 years of industry experience, this approach is the only way that can provide peace of mind for the user that the system will perform as required and give many years of reliable service.
There are no 'pre-determined packages' - as everybody's requirements and demands are different, each system is designed specifically to fulfil those requirements and allow for future expansion or modification. In order to ensure that potential system flaws or problems are eliminated, special features can be incorporated into the system design to help prevent certain heavy power consumers causing excessive battery drain or failure.
Any equipment that you add to a system may have a 'knock-on' effect on other equipment and it is very important that all the components in the system will work effectively together. In order to assess the power requirements and sizes of equipment that will be required, calculations are made to work out what is needed to meet your demands. Sizing the battery capacity appropriately is a critical issue, but it is equally important to ensure that there is sufficient means to generate power from the resources available. It is possible to incorporate special features into the power distribution so that certain heavy power consumers can only operate when there is adequate power being generated (i.e. from the alternator) or possibly from a generator e.g. if an immersion heater is to be fitted, the AC power distribution will be designed so that it only operates when the shore power or suitable generator is available. This will prevent excessive battery discharge, as the immersion heater cannot be powered by the inverter output.
Additional Products
I addition to electrical power systems, the philosophy used for the "Power Kit" extends to other products in our range. Kuranda are specialists in other areas including heating, hot water, cooking appliances and bow thrusters. This means that Kuranda can offer a full package of equipment for your fit-out that is completely tailored for your comfort, reliability and ease of use. Using certain products, such as Wallas automatic diesel cooking equipment and Kabola heating equipment, complete with all the necessary installation accessories, it is easily possible to achieve full home comfort and controllability without the need for gas on board.
