1. Check the battery voltage is at full charge.
2. Check at unit adaptor that voltage at unit is greater than 11.6V
3. Check that the cables sq.mm suffice for power transfer
4. Ensure all fuses are intact, breakers closed, connections are tight.
5. Check no oxygenation on fuses, breakers connections etc,
6. Check fuel in tank, check filter and pipe has fuel (none inland water only)
7. Ensure exhaust outlet is free of obstruction/ if shut open it
8. Switch unit on and listen for pump pulse clicking. Allow to prime.
9. Does the yellow LED light up at start up, if so is it steady?
10. Does the YELLOW LED light up but then BLINK refer to 1,2,3 above
11. Does RED and YELLOW flash together? LOCK out, reset unit
12. If no LED displayed, refer to step 4 and 5.
(At start up only the YELLOW LED is on, if both flash then unit is in SAFETY lockout.
THE UNIT MUST BE CHECKED prior to restart)
13. Are the cables direct from the battery to the unit (fused)
14. Are they via a 12 volt distribution system
15. If fed from 12 volt distribution, what size cable from battery to distribution?
16. If fed from 12 volt distribution, how far is unit from distribution board?
17. What volts at the Distribution switch/fuse out let?
(Guide:- measure on + ve red and across to common neutral with unit switched on)
18. Are there any connections/ joints in the cable supply to the hob?
19. Are all joints/terminals /contacts in the cable supply secure in their holders.
20. Is the cable 4 sq mm (AWG10) or greater.
(From battery to unit is 4metres=4 sq mm, if length is 6metres= 6 sq. mm)
21. Do the cables feed any other units or utilities? (If yes how many and what)
(Each unit must have its own dedicated cable)
______________________________________________________
22. Is the fuel supply direct from the tank?
23. Is the supply fed from top or bottom of tank?
24. If from TOP of tank, is the dip tube Wallas (Pt. No 30011)?
25. If NOT, State otherwise and size of bore.
26. Is the tank full fuel level higher than the unit?
27. If YES, is there a solenoid valve fitted to the fuel supply?
28. Are there any other devices being fed from Wallas dedicated fuel line?
29. Are there any fuel filters on the fuel line, if so what type?
30. Is the fuel line copper (Pt No 300692) 1/8 OD
31. Is the fuel line Wallas clear plastic (Pt No. 11010) 5OD / 2ID
32. What is the internal bore? And total length from tank?
(For fuel, maximum operable length is 8metres and max bore of 2mm)
33. How many connections are on the fuel line from the tank to the hob?
34. Are the connections tight, with insert (740120) fitted in ALL plastic connectors.
35. Can you hear the pump pulsing loudly at start up?
(Loud click from pump may be indicative of air ingress see items 23 & 24 above)
36. During light up period are there any other LED signals showing after a period of 3 to 4.5 minutes, if YES what are they? In what sequence
(Normal condition, RED LED on steady, YELLOW on steady, heat on hob)

Question What Voltage
Answer All Wallas equipment requires 12 volts D.C.
Question Does a Wallas supply via an RCD panel
Answer NEVER Wallas hobs and ovens Require direct fused connection
to 12 Volt battery.
Question Do Wallas require a pump
Answer NO, they have built in pumps
Question Does fuel supply require a filter
Answer yes they have an in line filter
fitted
Question from where in the fuel tank can the fuel be fed from
Answer Preferably from its own outlet from the bottom of the tank with an accessible isolation valve, however it maybe fed from a Wallas special dip tube which is fitted through top of tank,
Question How long can the fuel line be and what size of pipe?
Answer It is recommended the pipe be 5mm OD and 2mm ID for British waterways copper pipe 1/8 (3mm) is required, maximum length is 8 metres
Question Can I run both hob and oven from one single fuel line from the tank?
AnswerYes, however depending on the vessel and position of the tank special requirements may apply.
Question what are these requirements?
Answer When ever the fuel tank maximum level is higher than the Wallas device a fuel solenoid valve is required in the fuel line.
Question What if I have both a hob and an oven on my fuel line in the above case?
Answer One would fit a relay kit which would operate the fuel solenoid valve whenever any One (or both) of the units was switched on
Question How does one wire up a relay kit to hob and oven?
Answer Go to www.kuranda.co.uk and down load procedure to do this.
Question Does a single fuel solenoid valve work on more than two devices
Answer NO, it will work on two devices with a relay kit, however for any more devices, another solenoid valve will be required
Question How many Wallas devices can I fit to one fuel line
Answer One (combined) unit is generally fitted to one Wallas supplied fuel line,
If further units were to be added it would depend on the fuel system of vessel. There are 5 items tagged with faq. You can view all our tags in the Tag Cloud
