SP55S2i becomes SE60/185SMore thust with the 5-blade skew propeller
The next thruster to join the “Centennial Series” thrusters is the SP 55 S2i. Already having a sealed gearleg, the main new feature will be the 5-blade skewback design “Q-prop” propeller. The new name for the upgraded SP55S2i will be SE 60/185 S, following our new product naming convention.
Product change details • Introducing the new 5-blade propeller with skew design. The new propeller, following in the Side-Power tradition of advanced propeller design, is a significant step forward - reduced noise and increased power at the same high efficiency. As indicated by the name, the thrust by 10.5 volts is now up 5kgs from 55 to 60 kg. NOTE: The thruster current draw will increase in the same rate as the thrust.
Product features (recently introduced on the SP55S2i) • Propeller shaft seal are now “mechanical” seals where the two parts of the seal is sealing against each other with surfaces of ceramic and carbon for ultimate security against water intrusion (similar to what is also known as “deep sea seals”). • No oil bottle or hose to fit and no filling of oil in gearleg, the gearleg is pre-filled with a very exact level of oil. • Use of special quality gear oil for a lifetime of use without changing.
