The heart of our range of Tank level gauges is a stainless steel industrial grade pressure transducer. The stainless steel diaphragm ensures that no fluids come into contact with the sensing element ensuring maximum reliability. This transducer is packaged in various forms of the housing making sure that there is a system to suit your application. The result of the measurement of the fluid level is, first of all, averaged over a period of time, and then displayed on the gauge via a voltage reading delivered to the tank module.
We have 4 options for you to choose:-
- Water āThis is designed to fit into the water piping between the tank and the pump. It will measure the depth of fluid above the sensor so it should be approximately at the same level as the bottom of the tank although the orientation is unimportant. It can also be fitted in balance pipes or can be fitted to a straight coupler in place of the āTā as an end stop to a pipe stub, 15mm or 22mm are options. These units are normally calibrated by the customer after the tank has been filled but can be pre-calibrated to special order. We would recommend that an isolation valve is fitted between the tank and the unit. This option is suitable for freshwater or wastewater, but NOT fuel. If fitted in line with the pump the gauge will read empty while the pump is running.
- Water or Waste ā dip tube typeThis package is the plastic probe. This is suitable for use in freshwater and black and grey holding tanks. Units are made and calibrated to measure and there is a choice of a ¾ā BSP brass compression fitting or in the event of there being no female bush fitted to the tank we can supply a rubber bung to make the seal. These units are NOT suitable for fuel. 65mm is required over the tank bush if using the ¾ā BSP fitting or 40mm if using the rubber bung.
- Fuel āThis is designed to fit into a threaded bush at the bottom of the tank. The thread is ¼āBSPT. Again we would suggest that this is isolated with a shut-off valve to assist removal should this be necessary. Although designed primarily for diesel fuel this unit can also be used for all liquids that will not attack brass or 316 stainless steel. These units are normally calibrated by the customer after filling the tank. A 35mm clearance is required to screw the unit into the tank (the connector block unplugs.) This device meets the requirements of the Boat Safety Scheme for diesel fuel.
- Fuel ā Dip tube type āFinally, this is an all-metal probe designed for diesel fuel. The tank must beĀ fitted with a ¾ā BSP female bush. The suggested maximum length is 1 metre without additional support. The tube can be bent if necessary to allow for side entry into the tank. This device meets the requirements of the Boat Safety Scheme for diesel fuel.
